I met with Clermont, we hit it off immediately and I knew he got my vision of what I wanted the house to look and feel like. It was a wreck, but I could see the design beyond that. We did the whole renovation between Canada and Costa Rica via email, and it was a huge success. After many emails, photographs of design, ideas, colour schemes and a few trips to San Jose to shop for tiles etc., my vision became a reality. My husband and I arrived back in November 2018 and absolutely loved his work, and most importantly our “new home”. Clermont was not only on time and on budget but a real pleasure to work with. In 2017 we purchased a vacation property in playa Hermosa. Though the building had good bones it was in need of some serious TLC. Our real estate agent introduced us to Clermont and from the very first meeting we knew we were in the best of hands. Clermont and his wonderful team at Colibri were there from the beginning with a thorough evaluation and breakdown of services, costs and timelines. Work began when it was scheduled and continued every week day until completion. Clermont was on site daily to ensure that things were progressing on time and to answer any questions. His staff were dedicated and extremely professional, working from early in the morning to late afternoon. We were impressed with the scope of jobs that the team were able to take on, and the resources Clermont was able to draw upon. Since the first work done on the house we have brought Colibri back for several other projects including metal and stucco fencing, interlocking patio, a covered porch made with beautiful teak wood, and stone walled tiered gardens. We trust Clermont, he is man of his word. When he shakes your hand you know that him and his team will be there to deliver what has been promised. We are very grateful to Clermont, his lovely wife Vicky, and the Colibri staff for their hard work and dedication. My husband and I searched for a good contractor that we could trust after we bought our home. We knew that we needed a rancho to cover the pool that would be screened, security for our 2 small dogs and to keep out bugs and direct sun. We had no imagination or idea what could be done! We had 3 different contractors approach our request. 2 of them didn’t know either and from what we understood it was going to look like a big screened carport. Then Clermont came with his wife, Vicky, she looked at the house and designed a beautiful addition that would truly enhance our home. The crew with Colibri Contractors were wonderful. It was so fun to watch them in action. They were friendly and courtious to each other and us. They never got frustrated or mad. Clermont came often to check on how things were coming along and of course we frequently asked if this or that could be done. So much was accomplished in the time period that we were here, but then we had to leave for 3 months to tidy up matters in Canada. We weren’t here, but we emailed back and forth with questions and received pictures how things we coming along. When we arrived to see our new home we were utterly stunned and delighted. Vicky helped me in so many ways and even surprised me with every care and detail. My husband and I would highly recommend Colibri Renovation.

To state that Colibri Team is the best contractor in Costa Rica would be an understatement. I've been involved in many remodels here in California and only one in Costa Rica. The renovation Clermont and his team did for me at Sol y Mar was a painless and fun adventure, with an exceptional end product. I had developed tremendous respect for Clermont over a decade of having viewed his work in friends' homes, and personally experienced his professional help with repairs and smaller jobs, too. He and his team were always very busy, but were on time, neat and tidy, and extremely trustworthy. As the condo aged, it became clear that an "overhaul" was necessary. I didn't think twice about who would supervise the remodel. I gave Clermont and Vicky creative freedom in flooring, design, and even paint choices. With their input, the facelift was better than I could even have imagined! I am proud to have this be my very first review on Google Maps, and would be happy to discuss my experiences with anyone interested.

I highly recommend Colibri and owner, Clermont Gagne, for any new or remodel projects. He has completed several large projects for us and has done quality work for a reasonable price. If touch up needs to be done at the end of a project, his staff come immediately to do so, and they leave the work area clean! We will definitely use them again in the future!
